Ebony Onwubolu

Ebony joined One Southwark in May 2023. Her professional journey began in mental health, where she became a qualified counsellor. Ebony’s passion for helping young people led her to work in schools and colleges in Southwark as a School Engagement Manager, where she was able to directly engage with the community and understand young people’s needs.

It was One Southwark’s person-centred ideals and ambition to level the playing field that first drew Ebony’s professional attention, and Ebony has loved reconnecting to the borough where she was born and lived in for a time.

Born in Aylesbury estate and with family living in Nunhead, Ebony says her favourite part of Southwark is Peckham because of its ability to bring together so many cultures and great cooking! If you’re ever in the area, Ebony recommends Plantain Kitchen in Peckham Levels.

Between helping young people, travelling, watching movies, and getting involved in all things fashion and style, Ebony has also taught herself to do acrylic nails – so if you ever see her, you’re likely to see them done. She’s also a big advocate for things that allow people to express themselves in a healthy way, and hopes she can bring this energy to her role.
